Draft note. This is a first draft for review by our Malaysian lawyer. It isn’t legal advice and isn’t in force yet.
These guidelines are for everyone in the Ecosystem Support Community (ESC): the founders’ group, the Founders’ Wall, office hours and any space we run for members. They sit alongside our ESC membership terms. “We”, “us” and “our” mean Hexa Partners & Technologies Sdn. Bhd. (202201046763 / 1492460-M).
1. What we ask of you
- Be useful. Share what you’ve learned, ask clearly and answer kindly.
- Be respectful. Disagree with ideas, not people. No harassment, hate speech, threats or bullying.
- Be honest. Don’t pretend to be someone else, and don’t make claims about your business that you know are false.
- Be careful with other people’s information. Don’t share private messages, personal data or confidential material without permission.
- Keep it legal. No fraud, scams, pirated material or anything that breaks Malaysian law.
2. What isn’t allowed
- selling, promoting or recruiting for your own product or service without our say-so
- spam, chain messages and unsolicited direct messages
- sharing our paid materials outside ESC (see our content licence)
- sharing someone else’s idea or pitch outside the group without their consent
- investment, legal or tax advice offered as if it were certain. Opinions are welcome; please say they are opinions.
- anything sexual, violent or hateful
3. Your pitches and ideas
What you share in a group is shared with that group. We ask members to treat each other’s ideas as confidential, but we can’t promise that every member will. Share only what you are comfortable sharing. Nothing in ESC is a non-disclosure agreement.
4. The Founders’ Wall
The Founders’ Wall is off unless you turn it on. When it’s on, it shows your first name, the initial of your last name and your city. You can turn it off at any time on your member page. We can hide any entry.
5. What we do about problems
If you see something that breaks these guidelines, tell us at hey@hexa.partners. We read every report. We may remove a post, warn you, pause your access to the community or, for serious or repeated problems, end it. We will tell you why by email, and you can reply. Ending community access for breaking these guidelines doesn’t entitle you to a refund. Your rights under the refund and instalment policy and Malaysian consumer law are not affected.
6. Moderators
Our team and the people we ask to help moderate may read community spaces. Moderators follow these guidelines too. We don’t read private direct messages unless someone reports them.
Questions for our lawyer
- [For our lawyer] Can we remove a member’s community access for a breach and keep the membership’s other benefits, or must the whole membership continue?
- [For our lawyer] Is our wording on confidentiality of pitches enough, or should members agree to a short confidentiality clause when they join?
- [For our lawyer] What are our duties for content posted by members (for example under the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998)?
